Bruce Ware is a gift to the Christian church, but, his work is sometimes not very readable. Father, Son, and Holy Sprit challenges that stereotype. This work on the Trinity is orthodox and well thought out as well as approachable by both pastor and laymen.
Ware dives deep into the relationship shared by Triune God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by revealing both the authority and submission present within the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit does a great job of showing the unified essence of God as well as the diversified roles experienced by each member of the Trinity.
The doctrine of the Trinity is one of the most difficult and most understood of the church, yet Ware makes a great argument that we should desire to understand all of who God is even when it is difficult. The author has taken this difficult doctrine and shown a bright light upon it in an understandable and concise way so that Christians from all walks can discover the practical implications of this doctrine in their every day lives.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is also an excellent work on roles within the church and family. As image-bearers of God, Ware shows that we represent the relationship of the Trinity within our authoritative and submissive roles in the church, the family, and society at large. Egalitarians will find this work difficult to refute.
